The goal of the country poster project was to create three travel posters for that country. I was given the country of Thailand, so I did some research about it.

In Thailand other colors also have significant meaning. At one time, because of Hinduism, people believed that it was essential to wear a certain color each day of the week to experience luck. On Sunday it is important to wear red, Monday yellow, Tuesday pink, Wednesday Green, Thursday Orange, Friday light blue, and finally on Saturday wear purple. Yellow is an especially important color in Thailand because it represents authority and the monarchy. Overall, I feel like Thailand highly values the use of color, so I wanted to include lots of color in my posters.

Some icons of this nation include elephants, tigers, the beaches, night markets, floating markets, and the Buddhist temples. The elephants and tigers are animals that inhabit the wild areas of Thailand. Elephants are also key to the tourist trade because people pay to ride on their backs. I choose the beaches of Thailand because they are beautiful and something Thailand is known for. I picked the floating market because they are essential to the country’s economy. Additionally, the country is known for their food sold at these markets. Originally, I choose Buddhist temples because Buddhism is one of the countries most practiced religions. However, I liked how my tiger sketch flowed with the other posters, so I chose that one instead.
